Tarsar Marsar Trek Overview-
Tarsar Marsar Trek Itinerary-
• On a Warm Day at Pahalgam, Your Excitement would be on your nerves when you get to know that you would be trekking at altitudes of 12-000 ft. On the First Day of your Trek, you will be advised to store food, water, carry warm clothes, and wear footed shoes. Our First route would be from Pahalgam to Aru Valley. \n• As the Trek Starts, The Lidder River will be your fellow companion that would flow by you upstream. The walk-up of 9 kilometers will consist of coniferous trees swirling through shades of thick forestry and will lead you to huts inhabited mainly by the Gujjar People. \n• The most famous settlement here is the Nandekai Village which migrating shepherds thoroughly inhabit to build their lifestyle through agricultural practices. The Village is located in an idyllic corner and thus doesn't appear at the center of the route. The Sun would be past its prime, and the meadows start to graze further. \n• As we go along, the trees of conifers ebb away completely, and apparently, you would find cattle grazing along the valley slopes. As horse riders and cattle grazers make past their way, it would call for some lunch to grab by your stomach. Seeing them at such high altitudes truly feels stupendous. \n• After Lunch, The last part of the Trek will lead you to a log bridge over one of the Valley Streams. Refilling supplies are the best available here. Lidderwath is merely an hour from here. Another one of the meadows of Lidderwath would cross your way before moving past many valley streams. Soon after, you will find many huts and food places set up by the Local Authorities. You have arrived at Lidderwath. Rest in your camp alongside the valley streams and breathe fresh air for your following day.
• A healthy breakfast would be essential for this extended part of the Trek. Indeed you will be fascinated to see yourselves trekking at Altitudes of 9,150 to 11,000ft. \n• The Trek of 5 -5.5 Kilometers starts from your starting point at Lidderwath. As you get along, you will be startled by the freshness of the surroundings all along. The Lidder River starts to fade away. Continuing on your Trek, the blooming meadows disappear, and Thick Forests open up. \n• In about 30 Minutes, You will gaze your eyes off towards the Alpine Forests and the Coniferous Trees. The forests won't be thick, and several mid-routes will be found. The woods start to open slowly onwards, and these mid routes lead to steep slopes that connect the ridge. On either side of the ways, small scrubs, usual branches from alpine vegetation, are seen. \n• As you move further, you will discover yourself trekking upwards towards many valleys merging and snowy valleys and hilltops forming steep slopes. At this point, you may want to refill your water supplies for the day through multiple small cut streams flanking the valley. \n• After a high-activity trek, the small settlement of Homes offers excellent comfort. Located on the other side of the River and through a bridge, you will be directed towards this Idyllic settlement. Here you can comfort yourselves with tea brewing at the Tea Stalls and small huts. \n• The path leading to you after your lunch carries a trail of Streams alongside you as your companion, and when you finally reach the meadows of Sekiwas. The sunset here drenched in low thatched huts with lush-green fields is breathtaking. After your camp is set up, a night full of pictures and a delicious dinner on the hill makes for a great night.
• On Day 3, we will be on the Trek for 4-5 Hours. After A great eve at Sekiwas, Be sure to pack your lunch and carry enough water in your Bottles. The Terrain will be moderate; however, there would be a continuously gradual ascent. \n• As you start your Trek, you will experience many ridges in your way and will pass through numerous lawns encapsulated with lush hilly bushes. Some minutes later, a lump-shaped hill and then forward you can make out those crystal clear magnetic blue water of the Tarsar Lake. \n• At this stage, it's a seeming distance yet. The occasional whistling of the wind will accompany your Next 2 Hours of Trek, numerous hills cutting each other at their rims, and the sight of the Lake oozing itself clearer towards you.\n• By this time, the light would be soaring above you, and your stomach would call for lunch. Grab your lunch at the Camp Site near the coming ridge, and be sure to save some water for the next couple of hours of the Trek. \n• A 30-Minutes' Walk from the campsite would lead to you, the ridge that cushions the Valley of Tarsar. You're almost there to viewing the beautiful Lake; however, your final route stands your way. At this stage, you might want to cover your heads and grab up your slacks and trousers. There would be a stream approaching, and you need to jump over all the boulders. You will feel the Vibes of River-Crossing. Finally, there would be a green steppe at the end, and walking through that will lead you to the Lake. \n• Slide in your legs in the Grassland and witness the mesmerizing lake change hues with the atmosphere above changing its course for sunset. Feel Sublime and Rejuvenated.
• After a sumptuous breakfast, The Trek enters into a fascinating phase. On this day, we go further upwards through the Marsar Ridge to reach Marsar Lake. Carrying Enough Water is again advised.\n• The Ascent upwards will be through the ridge just located upwards. The patch of land gets thinner, and the hills start touching you as you move. You will witness the Sundarshar Shores by then, and bouldered hills will fence your road.\n• As you trek upwards through the shores, Snow Paved Lines begin to appear at the altitude. At Day, These lines of thick snowmelt and the way tend to get sloppy for some time. Holding onto the boulders eases the commute.\n• After a few rigorous tracks, the flatlands begin to arrive. The snow-sheeted grass-covered patch is over, and small water trails start to appear sideways. The View downwards looks beautiful. The ridge just located a few steps ahead starts to give glances of the Marsar Lake.\n• After crossing the bridge, one gets to see the Lake that has an almond-shaped figure. The water is translucent in Nature. The adjoining hilltops lay covered in patches of snow leading to summits. Meanwhile, on the other side, the Lake happens to pour out water which slides down.\n• Watching the water slide down into streams above the valley can be accompanied by lunch and sightseeing the adjoining points of the Marsar Lake. Towards the descent of these streams, the trail of the famous Dachigam Forest starts.\n• Towards Mid- Afternoon, the descent back starts for safety. After some time, we reach back at Tarsar Lake and then to tents, and the exhaustion arrives. After a memorable day, time calls for a good amount of Rest.
• After reaching Tarsar on the previous day, we set back your foot towards Lidderwath. The ride back will be full of nostalgia but will provide sceneries at an alternative time. You'll indeed feel like you're on another trek. With that being said, grab your bites, for we have a long walk to descend. \n• Our first half of the Trek will be towards Sekiwas. Descending the boulders will be a fun activity and a perfect adventure to start in the morning. Crossing those giant boulders will lead you towards Tarsar Lake. \n• Tarsar Lake, with the bright hues of the morning sun, rarely attended, would be the perfect setting for crystal clear water fading your shadow sidewards and listening to the cool breeze. After half an hour of combining all nostalgic memories made at the Lake, our descend goes further towards the multiple ridges. \n• After crossing the lump-shaped hill, we can see the meadows all again scattered like milk on a Bowl. Vegetated by grass, herbs, and other non-woody plants, occasional sighting of butterflies can be made. This would make one feel very blissful. Soon you will see the thatched huts of Sekiwas. At this moment, lunch enjoying the butterflies spray around for their nectar would be the perfect companion. \n• After lunch at Sekiwas, we will be headed to all those idyllic huts of the grazed settlement of Homwas. With mid-afternoon settling in, it will be the perfect time to sink in the tea stalls' nostalgia. Oh, Having Tea at Such high altitudes at the backdrop of those beautiful meadows is truly a night to remember. \n• After spending some time at Homwas, we will walk further towards Lidderwath. We will be crossing multiple streams and, finally, a thicket of coniferous forests. Walking on that trail for some time, we will eventually arrive at our destination for the day with all nostalgia creeping in for the Final Day of the Trek.
• For the last day of the Trek, We will descend towards our Starting Point, Pahalgam. After Five wonderful Days of Trekking, the final stretch will carry the most reflective elements. Firstly we would cross the little streams to head towards the log bridge wherein we filled water supplies usually. In the daytime on the log bridge, sightings of varieties of fishes are found. \n• After watching a school of fishes streaming past those small streams, the path would now be grasslands, and a warm hello to the cattle grazers would be fun here. If time permits, tourists usually stop by to explore the lifestyle of the cattle grazers, and their hospitality is heart-touching. \n• The next point to descend downwards would be Nandekai Village, wherein lunch would be called. Revisiting those idyllic low-thatched Gujjar huts and evolving deep into their customs, livestock would be the best social interaction on this Trek. The scenery here is hills crossing each other with low-lying valleys and meadows comprising it towards the center. \n• After trekking on these low-lying valleys, we will move across the hilly slopes en route to Pahalgam. The Coniferous and Pine Trees would be seen again with their tint of shape on top. Whispers of Nature can be heard at every instant here. \n• The Lidder River shows its signs streaming past the slopes and helps serve the attraction point. Sometimes at the end of streams, one can find a few workers huddling towards making more small bridges or digging the ground to help keep the water shallow. The walkthrough of coniferous Trees should lead to Aru Valley. \n• From Aru Valley, Pahalgam is a mere distance. Walking along the Lidder River at its bank, few huts would be seen along with pony riders starting their Trek on the other side. A few minutes more, and you will be back to your destination.
