From beaches to hilly mountains, travel is an integral hobby and a moment of ecstatic joy for all. Trekking is an adventure activity that has come a long way and is one of the very spoken-about hill-sport conundra of terms. Trekking is a part of travel, so is Lifestyle or Tourism. Trekking at relatively Higher Altitudes has always been the goal for Trekkers in their aim. Exploring the World through Remote Places is an alternative paradigm to the term of Sightseeing. Fables of Snow Clad Peaks, mesmerizing sceneries, beautiful flora, and fauna are heard or seen through various mediums for those wishing to go on Treks. A Site where lakes as translucent as Mirror, butterflies are buzzing around their nectar-stuck flowers, roads as steep yet highly excellent to conquer are what you will witness.\n Not just a home is what one calls for it, for an activity like trekking is needed to uncover the mystiques behind these splendid sites if you are getting along with the Excitement, welcome on board to The Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek. \n\nThe naming convention of the Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek comes from the two lakes that form the backbone of this Trek Journey, namely Tarsar and Marsar. The Tarsar Lake fascinates you first, and then you get to see the Marsar Lake at a higher altitude. Both the lakes are among the best creations of Mother Nature and have all elements that make its existence truly far from natural. The Trek comes at very decent rates, making it highly affordable in terms of equipment or traveling costs to make arrangements for living and food. The Trek can be altered or modified at own choices; however, usually, it's for 6- 7 Days. Trekking at altitudes of 13000 feet will feel surreal at first, and on actually being there, you can proclaim yourself at one of the points in the country. Here at this Trek, your feet may be subjected to difficult paths; temperatures might urge you to step back in; however, the Heart would still feel the warmest of all. The Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek usually stars at Pahalgam. It then follows through the trail of Aru Valley, Lidderwath, Homwas, and Sekiwas to finally reach Tarsar, wherein one would have to go upwards to get Marsar. We would be astonished at every site to see its uniqueness, making the trip wholesome and memorable. The Two Lakes, Tarsar, and Marsar in the Pahalgam region of Kashmir are reached when Trekkers flank pat meadows, thickened Forests, and numerous Streams. The Tarsar Lake is situated at an altitude of 12,450 meters, and to arrive here by trek route, it usually 2 Days. The Marsar Lake is located a little ahead of the Tarsar Lake and upwards. Both these lakes define the epitome of beauty. \n\nYou may wonder this Trek of many elements filled with awe, and wonder is as easy as it seems to be. However, where would the adventure be in that? A Trek without experience is as empty as a glass without water. This Trek doesn't call itself adventurous due to steep descends, slippery paths, or heavy boulders, but rather due to the vitality that all the fellow trekkers bring about to this incredible journey. This Trek can be carried out anytime from April to September, although June and July are considered the best months as one can cherish the beauty of sceneries the best throughout these months. People usually travel at the end of September to explore the fantastic snowfall. The Trek, as stated, starts from Pahalgam, which is at a distant location from the capital of Srinagar. It then takes us through Aru Valley and then through the remainder of the Trek. \n\nThe 1st Day of the Trek will start at Pahalgam. Imagine starting your First Day of This amazing Trek at the height of 2414 meters. It would be one of the Best Journeys of Your life. We would begin at Pahalgam and move to Lidderwath, where we would stay overnight for the 1st Day of the Trek. The Basic suggestions for all would be to carry enough water, warm clothes that sometimes depend on the seasons and those spines solid shoes and boots. The Trek would take us through the forests to Aru Valley, where the Lidder River appears. The Lidder River is one of the most significant streams of the adjoining valleys and flows through the Trek, covering a substantial aspect of the entire Trek. The total duration of the 1st day would be 4-5 Hours when we get to see the thick coniferous trees around the valleys, The Coniferous Trees, and the Alpine Forests surrounding it, forming a blend of fusion of these hilly trees. Along the Lidder River, One can find numerous huts and settlements that show the village practices of these people. The sheds are usually Gujjar Types and are located in far scattered corners. Often they work through the field, plucking flowers or through grazing. The Nankai Village houses a few villagers who work through these meadows. It's on these hilly slopes that we find cattle grazers grazing along the slopes. They form the main constituent of the agricultural practice here.\n\nBy this time, there is a complete transition of the scenery as we start to find ourselves evolved within the blushing meadows far from the coniferous thickets. At points, it feels so blissful that trekkers carry on looking at these floras of nature for an endless amount of time. Innumerable river flowing streams start making their way out at this stage, and you cross many at several locations. Towards reaching Lidderwath, you are entitled across mesmerizing sceneries that emerge from the river streams at confluences with each other cushioned in the backdrop of the Majestic Mountains. While at some streams, trekkers need to cross across the rivers where the depth is low, few bridges are deployed across slightly deep streams. Several of these bridges are bamboo made and are furled with cloth sticks to tie them apart, with the Villagers' deployment work. One does find a log-made bridge which is a stronger one to the remaining already existing. The log bridge covers a significant area of the big part of the river, and we get to see a small confluence of those small streams meeting. The view there is beautiful, with stones rugged over to the ridge above it. Crossing the bridge leads us to Lidderwath, where we find huts and camps stationed for all fellow trekkers. The first segment of the Trek ends here. However, exhausted trekkers in the evening call for a bit of bonfire amongst the lovely chanting meadows and the rejuvenating air. \n\nWith an already fantastic segment completed for the First Day, We now move on with the Second Day of the Trek, where we would cover going to the village of Sekiwas, which is slightly at a higher ascent than the village Lidderwath. After a warm morning at Lidderwath, The Trekkers have Breakfast under the highly comforting morning sun at their campsites. We see a slightly alternative going on to the Trek when we move forward. How often do we see stalls put up with Tea and Noodles covered within these thick forests of Sekiwas that we would now explore? Well, The Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek does provide the solution for that. After Breakfast, we move at a slow rate towards the Trek, to which we start exploring ourselves in the thick forests. Amidst walking through these, we feel the alpine surroundings of the Northern Countries that we do see on our Television. While we move ahead, the Lidder River starts to descend downwards and out of sight. These alpine forests begin to discover themselves at the top section of the Trees and Forest Land amongst the adjoining scrublands and grass tops. Along our way, we sight crooked trees, large shrubs in a mixture of evergreen trees with their top section pointing towards the sky as a fur of joy. These forests shade themselves going along the way, with some segments showing thin and some showing thick shades. Amid these forests, scrubs are sometimes thickened, and a lot of several mid-routes start to appear and then start disappearing after traversing through chunks of thick trees. As we walk along the path, one often finds multiple mid-routes that break down along the dense forest branches and merge along the rough wilderness leading into the steep slopes. No sooner this scenery starts to show up as a Fairy tale of the olden times and all that's worth it to live in this throughout. The route begins to trek upwards, and steep slopes form a significant chunk of land. The Valleys meet and start to appear on top hilly sides as if they were playing hide-and-seek.\n\n Often at multiple times during the Trek, trekkers feel exhausted however various streams flank each other where the readers can comfort themselves with all the water supply they need. The Snowy Valleys and Hill Tops keep bending themselves on and off at various joints. After crossing multiple of these at many ridges, settlements scattered, yet the few throughout these trail of path slowly start to be on sight. At Homes, villagers gather around at tea hubris or stalls, which serve as the station where all the Villagers come forward to discuss matters of importance and arrive at a consensus. The Villagers always extend their warm welcome to the trekkers, and numerous times people explore their lives. Usually, this activity serves as a means of refreshment while also focusing on the lifestyle that trekkers engage in to obtain rest amidst the highly adventurous and exciting journey. Often trekkers also engage in little activities along with the villagers in exchange for their hospitality towards them. The last chunk of the Trek towards Sekiwas is through stretches of blooming meadows that are often accompanied by several streams. The sun starts to set itself along the west, lying its shadow over all the wretched thatched huts or the low-lying fainted scrubs that it bestows upon. The small stream glues along trails acting upon the thick viscosity and moves as you go along to reach your destination. The view here is astonishing, and it feels so much like having delicious marshmallows up on top. Walking down the trail leads us to Sekiwas where campsites are found on both sides of the ridge. \n\nWith all the walk done and changing various dynamic landforms, it's time to step out of your boots and dine in the backdrop of the highly appealing scenery taking a break waiting for the next day to Trek further. The third day of the Trek is when we start to discover the exquisite beauties of the entire journey ahead, the glamorous Tarsar Lake. The lake, as sound as it seems, as calm as it is heard, will serve as the perfect appetizer to the iconic Marsar Lake that lies a day ahead of you. At this stage of the Trek, one feels he is just exactly on the same adventure as it can be at any place around the World. Walking along steep high terrains battling along the thick stuffed ridges crossing big shaped boulders will surely get you excited, and as a trek lover, this can't get more fabulous for you. The trail carries several ridges with itself, and crossing these many seems just as ardent as it can be. Towards the upward side of the valley, as the trail starts to leave itself behind, one can encounter several of these ridges stuffed with each other. These ridges are encompassed within lawns that are ideally located next to them, providing a soothing background to the scenery. These lawns are sometimes polished with several hilly flowers, grown only in those regions. They do, however, garden the area and bring charm to the Trek. The Tarsar Lake is around 4-5 hours away from the starting point, and walking these ridges carries the incoming sight of different views of the lake. The lake shines on the magnetic blue waters that we are often seen to get an oasis vibe attached to it. Walking this trail often leads trekkers sometimes to explore alternative routes. This happens due to the constant need to explore the various surroundings. The paths sometimes widen and shorten along the route. Innumerable small hills are cutting each other at the wedges forming an M-shaped figure with the ridges forming a background to view this beautiful formation. \n\nAs the Trek carries on further, several lake insights are seen, often shown to welcome itself to the trekkers. After a couple of hours, the walk stretch can be shortened after having a delightful lunch at the campsite, which is just towards the aerial end of the background Ridge. Having lunch in the backdrop of these splendid-looking hills at the clouds soaring above you have carried out on such an amazing trek turns out to be very comforting and relaxing. The walk after the lunch usually comprises valleys intersecting, forming steep cuts on background and hills on the backdrop that sometimes show those snow-clad mountains. At this time, the air around starts to cool down, and it rejuvenates all the tired muscles if any within. The mightiest task here is to cross all the boulders that lead to the other side of the ridge. The boulders here are placed in a non-uniform structure due to the fast-paced stream of the Lidder River. As they are in various shapes, it is difficult to comprehend; however, the technique is commonly known, and hanging over to the bigger ones for a larger period helps complete this task in less time. The boulders slowly amidst the air, allowing us to breathe more gloriously, The Tarsar Lake begins to show up in its full volume, and the only words that utter out of us are, Oh beauty. Fantastic creation by Mother Nature. The lake has an almond shape and sits comfortably in the valley, with the slopes providing an arrow-shaped cushion to it. Mountain Ranges on the far sides dominate the lake. During both seasons, The Tarsar Lake retains all of its beauty like truly eternal. The basin of the lake surrounded by many rims has pine flowers or shaped scrubs hanging around it. A few common flowers are the blue poppy, the potentilla, or the Hedysarum. These flowers are usually found during the winter or spring. This lake hosts many migratory birds in the summertime, which is something wonderful to see. How many times does one do gets to see birds on a lake at high altitudes? Well, this particular Trek shows you all that you could ask. Doesn't that make it Well Exciting? The Excitement doesn't end here. Rather when we reach the lake, birds of migratory stature such as Bar-Headed Geese, cinnamon sparrows, and golden eagles are common to see. They usually pick up food at this point and traverse throughout the circumference of the Leg. These birds spend a huge amount of time afternoon, and trekkers can see them from a very near distance. The Birds usually stay till late evening, and one can find black bulbuls sitting alongside the basin drinking water. This time of the day, many trekkers put their cameras to use, catching up with the images of these migratory birds. After such an exciting day, it's best to sit down on the grasslands watching the crystal clear magnetic colored lake transform its color as the sun starts to set and different hues of mixed spectrums are formed.\n\nMarsar Lake is situated at a higher altitude than Tarsar Lake, and it's usually suggested to travel to the lake in the first half of the day and return to the base lake in the evening. On the Fourth Day, one sets out to reach the highest altitude-defining moment of The Trek. Towards the broader side of the ridge beneath which the Tarsar Lake lies, the shores of the Sudarshan Parbat meld their way into the thinner lines of the Trek. The path does get lighter, and snow shades sometimes appear on the route. The ascent upwards does have the snow-laden peaks arched in the backdrop. Walking along the shores of the Parbat helps us cross the other side of the ridge and lead us away from the snow-paved way. The snow towards higher altitudes does make the route more challenging to hold on to. Within minutes of crossing the ridge, Trekkers are subjected to small stretches of flat-lying meadows that often end in joints. These meadows don't have a starting stretch but rather overlap each other. Crossing these meadows leads us to the Marsar Lake, which projects itself into the lower ends of the hilly peak. The scenic beauty of this lake is worth capturing. The lake has mountains surrounding it, while one stream of the lake starts to descend towards the Dachigam Forests, which houses the famous National Park. The lake has crystal clear water throughout the day, and it makes it look significantly clearer. The descent downwards happens just as the route we followed. After having lunch, it is preferred to start the descent. Usually, the trail stays the same, and it is desired to create the drop at a reasonable speed to be by sunset onto the Camp Site at Tarsar Lake and then back towards Homwas. We have completed the significant Explorations to be carried out in this Trek and the following Two Days calls for all the nostalgia to set back in. \n\nThe descent starts gradually on the same path that we took on our way upwards. During this part of the Trek, nostalgic memories are those that strike the most. Although the differences between the activities carried out are minor, one feels highly dew-eyed on going back. This alteration helps complete the entire trek journey. The first half of this descend towards Sekiwas and then to Lidderwath. Having seen the crossed the boulders at midafternoon during ascent, this activity will now be carried out at Daylight. The boulders would appear more rigid than ever, and crossing them, one sometimes gets carried out by the streamflow. Trekkers usually engage in throwing water onto each other periodically to cherish the moment and have some enjoyment. Later on, several ridges are crossed by, and in particular, A Lump Shaped Hill that acts as a very bouncy elevator to the descent forms a prominent boulder on the path. While one gets towards Sekiwas, the sun goes straight upwards. After having sumptuous lunch with the villagers, the trekkers go out to the nearby nectar blooming flowers, where many beautiful butterflies come to drink nectar. These butterflies are all of the various colors signifying so much vibrance in them. The walk down towards Homwas is through the same path. The stream of the Lidder River forming its confluence is once again seen, and on reaching the Idyllic huts of Homwas, Sunset sets in.\nThe Final Day of the Trek is a highly nostalgic one. From the log bridge to crossing the multiple streams, watching the cattle graze, exploring the rural lifestyle of the people of Nandekai Village to reaching the final sub-point of Aru Village, everything seems so evocative as in a Lost Dream. In Daylight, when the small streams pitch in their selves to the main branch, schools of fish are seen to set out to race. These usually serve as another primary occupation of the Villagers of the many settlements in the Trek. Once we reach Aru Valley, Pahalgam is at a mere distance from it. The last stretch of the path towards Pahalgam witnesses pony horses set out to complete rides, huts some pukka, some kuccha in a radial settlement pattern. Reaching Pahalgam at the campsite signaled this highly extraordinary Trek's last walk that puzzled the trekkers at so many circumstances and always opened its arms to welcome all.\n\nKashmir is often called the 'Paradise on Earth,' which holds significance in its Tourism. The Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek Journey is the Cherry on the Cake of the innumerable spectacular destinations on this land. Settled on a very high altitude, this Trek constitutes excellent trails and the 2 Famous alpine lakes- Tarsar and Marsar that praises the beauty of each Other. Trekking through these immaculate and beautiful lakes, every trekker is instilled by the beauty that Mother Nature offers us as Human Beings. The distinctive nature of the lake is such that it changes with every hue of the sun. The Looming Meadows, lush green verdant scrubs, crisp, chilled air, snow-laden hills, and exquisite valleys are so duly embraced by the wide avenues of coniferous and alpine trees in the thickets of forestry and the breath-taking Lidder River. The Trek covers sections of watching migratory birds fiddling in and around the Tarsar Lake, Butterflies weaving through in patterns, shoals of fishes of the different genus found in the hills that make the entire Trek unique from many other trek routes, fascinating and adventurous. From the First Day of the Trek to the Last Day, the Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek, in all its significance, provides the most pleasant, delightful, and satisfying Trek Journeys throughout. The ridge just located a few steps ahead starts to give glances of the Marsar Lake.\n• After crossing the bridge, one gets to see the Lake that has an almond-shaped figure. The water is translucent in Nature. The adjoining hilltops lay covered in patches of snow leading to summits. After half an hour of combining all nostalgic memories made at the Lake, our descend goes further towards the multiple ridges. \n• After crossing the lump-shaped hill, we can see the meadows all again scattered like milk on a Bowl. Vegetated by grass, herbs, and other non-woody plants, occasional sighting of butterflies can be made. This would make one feel very blissful. Soon you will see the thatched huts of Sekiwas. At this moment, lunch enjoying the butterflies spray around for their nectar would be the perfect companion. \n• After lunch at Sekiwas, we will be headed to all those idyllic huts of the grazed settlement of Homwas. With mid-afternoon settling in, it will be the perfect time to sink in the tea stalls' nostalgia. Oh, Having Tea at Such high altitudes at the backdrop of those beautiful meadows is truly a night to remember. \n• After spending some time at Homwas, we will walk further towards Lidderwath. We will be crossing multiple streams and, finally, a thicket of coniferous forests. Walking on that trail for some time, we will eventually arrive at our destination for the day with all nostalgia creeping in for the Final Day of the Trek.

Day-6
Lidderwath to Pahalgam back.

• For the last day of the Trek, We will descend towards our Starting Point, Pahalgam. After Five wonderful Days of Trekking, the final stretch will carry the most reflective elements. Firstly we would cross the little streams to head towards the log bridge wherein we filled water supplies usually. In the daytime on the log bridge, sightings of varieties of fishes are found. \n• After watching a school of fishes streaming past those small streams, the path would now be grasslands, and a warm hello to the cattle grazers would be fun here. If time permits, tourists usually stop by to explore the lifestyle of the cattle grazers, and their hospitality is heart-touching. \n• The next point to descend downwards would be Nandekai Village, wherein lunch would be called. Revisiting those idyllic low-thatched Gujjar huts and evolving deep into their customs, livestock would be the best social interaction on this Trek. The scenery here is hills crossing each other with low-lying valleys and meadows comprising it towards the center. \n• After trekking on these low-lying valleys, we will move across the hilly slopes en route to Pahalgam. The Coniferous and Pine Trees would be seen again with their tint of shape on top. Whispers of Nature can be heard at every instant here. \n• The Lidder River shows its signs streaming past the slopes and helps serve the attraction point. Sometimes at the end of streams, one can find a few workers huddling towards making more small bridges or digging the ground to help keep the water shallow. The walkthrough of coniferous Trees should lead to Aru Valley. \n• From Aru Valley, Pahalgam is a mere distance. Walking along the Lidder River at its bank, few huts would be seen along with pony riders starting their Trek on the other side. A few minutes more, and you will be back to your destination.
