Brahmatal Trek is a mesmerizing trek in the Garhwal Himalayas. The trail passes through the dense forests of pine, rhododendron, and fir trees. A little village called Lohajung in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district is where the Brahmatal Trek begins. It passes through some of the most beautiful places in the region which include:- Bekaltal, Ghora Lotani, and Brahma Tal. The views of the snow-capped mountains, dense forests, and meadows are simply breathtaking. The trek is ideal for a beginner and challenging enough to excite experienced trekkers. The trail is relatively easy compared to other treks in the region. But the high altitude of this place and the sudden change in the climate can be a little uncomfortable for some people. \nBrahmatal is a stunning high-altitude lake nestled in the lap of the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,250 mts in Uttarakhand. The lake is surrounded by 7 towering peaks and is a paradise for trekkers and nature lovers. The trek to Brahmatal is moderate-difficult and can be performed by anyone with basic fitness and prior trekking experience. The best time to trek to Brahmatal is from December to March. \nYou continue on through difficult slopes at Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar until you reach the summit of Brahmatal, where you are rewarded with a front-row seat view of majestic Himalayan peaks that rise above 7,000 meters. With glimpses of Ali Bugyal, Bedni Bugyal, and Junargali, this trip also rewards you with a stunning perspective of the Roopkund climb track (along the Brahmatal ridge).\nAt this altitude, just like on any other Himalayan journey, the trails are blanketed with snow, and it snows while you're on the trail.\nBrahmatal summit, which is in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand's Garhwal Himalayan area, gives a fantastic panoramic 360-degree view of numerous mountain ranges precisely lined up nearby. Summits in the Kumaon division, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Hathi-Ghoda peaks, and countless others are seen from Brahmatal. Not to mention the view of the lovely meadows and valleys, the glimpse of the sun beaming on the snow peaks is spectacular.\n\nHow to reach the location?\n-Members can take the train from New Delhi to either Dehradun or Kathgodam, where they can take a jeep to Lohajung. \n-The driving time from Haridwar and Kathgodam to Lohajung is approximately 10 to 11 hours.\n-Cab services from Haridwar and Kathgodam are common and easy to find. \n-Members can split the costs per person and pre-book their rides through various operators.


Itinerary-

Day 1:
Arrive in Lohajung

*Arrive in Lohajung, which is a gorgeous village located in the Uttarkashi district by 4:00 PM. The entire trek path is breathtaking and captivating. Once you reach Lohajung, you may see the renowned Nanda Ghunti summit.\n*The community serves as the hub for 15–16 smaller communities. If you missed any of the products, there are a few stores where you can shop.\n*Members will register at 5 PM, then gather for the hike briefing at 6 PM. Then there will be the distribution of gear like the rucksack, gaiters, microspikes, and trekking sticks.\n*Spend the night at Lohajung base camp.


Day 2:
Lohajung to Bekaltal (Khopdalia)

*The trek, which begins at Lohajung Chowk, passes through Mandoli Village. As you gain height, the sights of the Kali valley become more distinct.\nAs you gain height, the sights of the Kali valley become more distinct. \n*Take in the beautiful views of Navali Bugyal and Bagdi Bugyal by stopping at Begum for lunch. \n*From this point on, the trail ascends steadily through thick oak forests until it reaches Khopdalia, where you will set up the tent for the day. \n*Immediately above Bekaltal is the camp. The lake is surrounded by large stands of oak trees and is always brown due to the abundance of forest foliage. \n*Sleepover at Khopdalia. In the winter, a thin layer of ice accumulates on the lake.


Day 3:
Bekaltal to Brahmatal

*After this strenuous climb, you will arrive at an oak and rhododendron forest with Bekaltal directly to your right. \n*A level meadow with a breathtaking view of Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghunti, and their neighboring peaks is reached after the day's travel. \n*From here, it takes an hour of hiking to get to Jhandi Top, where there is an even better view of the mountain range. The Roopkund route is also visible from here. \n*The track, which gradually descends from Jhandi Top to Brahmatal, takes roughly an hour to complete. We will walk 500 meters the following day to get to the Brahmatal campsite from the lake. \n*Spending the night camping at Brahmatal.


Day 4:
Brahmatal to Khorurai

*Start the day early to take advantage of the weather. A thin layer of ice has developed on top of the lake. It is situated in the center of the grassland and provides a wonderful view. \n*After walking across the snow-covered grasslands for 10 minutes, you can reach it from the Brahmatal campground. \n*As you leave Brahmatal, take the path to the left. From there, then climb to the peek and then drop to Khorurai, where you're going to make your camp for the day. \n* Reach the crest of the ridge to see the breathtaking views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. The descent to Khorurai offers breathtaking views of Chaukhambha, Mandi, Mana, Nilgiri, Neelkanth, and Maitoli in addition to the beautiful mountains.


Day 5:
Khorurai to Lohajung

*The smooth downhill to Lohajung travels through an oak and rhododendron forest with only two minor streams to cross in between.\n*The journey to Lohajung's base camp takes about 3 hours. \n*1 PM departure time. Participants may travel to Kathgodam or Haridwar. Cabs can be ordered when needed.



Know before you go for the brahmtal trek:-


Take time to adjust at high altitudes as the climatic conditions differ a lot from those in the plains.

To have a secure experience, pay attention to the trek guides or instructors.

Keep some common prescriptions and an emergency kit with you.

Do not support littering at nearby sites or tents as the hike passes through an environmentally friendly area.

Avoid hurting or upsetting the locals' religious and cultural traditions.

Although there are medical services at each campsite, it is advised for participants to bring their own medicine (if necessary).

Guidelines provided by the State government should be followed.

Keep your distance.

Use a face mask and frequently wash your hands.
