Sar Pass is a popular trek in the Kullu region. The trek is preferred for all adventurers who enjoy cold weather and high mountains, regardless of prior experience. The Sar pass trek begins in Kasol and takes you through thickly forested mountains, lovely meadows, beautiful surroundings, snow-covered mountains, and some of the most spectacular scenery, trying to make it one of the best beginner treks. On one of the trek's days, you'll cross by a comparatively tiny lake (Sar in the local dialect), which gives the trek its name. The total distance traveled is 48 kilometers. The view from the pass, which is close to 14000 feet in elevation, is of the beautiful mountains of Parvati valley. Sar Pass is a moderate trek located in the majestic Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is a popular trek that can be done in 6-7 days and is great for beginners as well as experienced trekkers. The journey offers stunning views of the Himalayas, lush green meadows, crystal clear lakes, and breathtaking landscapes. The trek starts from the small town of Kasol and passes through the charming villages of Tosh, Pulga, and Kheerganga. On the way, trekkers can also explore the mysterious Rudranag waterfalls, the Kheerganga Hot Springs, and the majestic snow-capped peaks of Sar Pass.\n\nHow to reach the location?\n1. Take a flight from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport, near Kullu. \n2. From the Bhuntar Airport, take a taxi or bus to Kasol, around 30 km away. \n3. You can also take a bus from Delhi to Bhuntar and then take a taxi or a shared jeep to reach Kasol. \n4. Another option is to take a train from Delhi to Chandigarh and then take a bus or a shared jeep to reach Kasol. \n5. You can also take a taxi directly from Delhi to Kasol, which will be 12-13 hours away.


Sar Pass Trek Itinerary-

Day 1:
Reach Kasol Base Camp-

Participants must arrive at the Kailashrath Treks Kasol Base Camp by 10 a.m. \nWhen all participants arrive at base camp, they will go through the registration process [where all participants will verify their medical certificate and ID proof]. \nAcclimatization walks to Chalal village after lunch. Then, a route overview and a few key tips will be provided in the evening.\nWe will provide rucksacks, gaiters, and sticks. \nStay the night at Kasol base camp.


Day 2:
Continuing the Trek to Grahan village.

The trek from Kasol to Grahan will begin at 7 a.m. \nThe trek begins in Kasol's center and follows the Grahan nalah's true left. The trail is simple and popular among locals. Chilly winds blow through beautiful pine forests.\nThe ascent is gradual and fun. \nIn a couple of hours, one can easily travel a long distance. \nThe trail will become rocky and peaks uphill after Grahan nalah, away from the river's right bank. Buras (Rhododendrons) thrive in this forest. \nAfter about an hour of steep climbing, one arrives at the top village of Grahan. \nAt Grahan, you will spend the night in tents.


Day 3:
Grahan to Min Thach.

In the morning, we will climb north of the Grahan camping area. The villagers use this path to get to Min Thach.\nAfter a short walk, Min Thach, Nagaru, and Sar Top can be seen on the mountain to the right.\nThe trail becomes steeper as it enters the woods. The slope will steepen and the path will become more puzzling at times.\nThe camp of Min Thach appears after crossing the forest.\nAt Min Thach, you'll spend the night in a tent.


Day 4 :
Min Thach to Nagaru

The journey from Min Thach to Nagaru is short but exhausting. The trek begins with a gradual ascent to Nagaru camp from Min Thach. As one approaches the tree line after an hour of hiking, the view becomes clearer. Because there are few water sources along the route, bring plenty of water. The Nagaru camp at 3,900 meters takes about 4 hours to reach. Beautiful mountains can be seen stretching across the Parvati valley from Nagaru. The night is colder due to the chilling wind, and it's best to sleep early because the next day includes a head start for the trek.


Day 5:
Nagaru to Biskeri Thach via Sar Pass

We get an early start the next day at 4 a.m. because the climb to the pass is steep. The path from Nagaru to Biskeri is mainly covered in snow even in the summers due to its altitude. \nOnce at the pass, the gorgeous mountains of the Tosh valley become visible. Water sources freeze early in the morning and become available after 8 a.m. from the stream that runs through the pass.\nOne of the longest snow slides leads from the. A gentler valley slope takes up to a kilometer to reach. After an hour of walking from Sar Pass, you will arrive at the Valley. The journey continues through densely packed bushes to the Biskeri Thach campsite. \nAt Biskeri Thach, you will spend a night in tents.


Day 6:
Biskeri Thach to Barshaini, return to Kasol base camp and then depart.

Biskeri provides a breathtaking view of pine trees, majestic mountains, and lush grasslands. We'll make our way down from Biskeri to the village of Pulga. The descent is easy and it takes about 5 hours to reach Pulga. We'll leave Pulga and cross the Parvati River to get to the village of Barshaini. A Jeep ride to Kasol's base camp. Participants must leave the Kasol campground by 5 p.m.

Sunglasses- Sunglasses are required. The trek will have lots of snow, which can cause snow blindness.
