The Alpather Lake, also known as frozen lake is situated in Gulmarg and is surrounded by massive mountains and beautiful green meadows bursting with wildflowers, is a breathtaking sight. This lake remains frozen for the majority of the year. Even if you arrive in the middle of June, you will be able to view the frozen form of Alpather Lake. Summertime is from May to September, and it is during this season, you will be able to view the lake's crystal pure blue water. During the majority of the year, the lake is adorned with white icebergs that float here and there on the water's surface.\n\nAt the foot of the twin Apharwat Peaks, this beautiful, high-altitude lake is located, and the journey to this lake begins from the famous hill station of Gulmarg. Unrivaled scenery, fewer tourists, and a similarity to the renowned Lake Louise in Canada combine to make this a fantastic one-day trip from Gulmarg. It is a well-kept secret in Kashmir that Alpather Lake, popularly known as the Frozen Lake, remains frozen from November to mid-June due to its habit of being frozen throughout this period.\nThroughout the year, you may go on a hike to the lake. From November until mid-June, the lake is completely frozen, making it an excellent time to come if you wish to have a sauntering experience on a frozen lake with a snowy background. From June through September, the ice melts, the snow melts, and the winter background transform into a lovely meadow, complete with flowers and plenty of sunlight. You may make this journey in a single day. Follow the path from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg, which ascends to the Apharwat ridge through the Khilanmarg pass. Located 13 kilometers away from Gulmarg, in the foothills of the twin peaks, the lake is a popular tourist destination. \n\nThe background of the lake is what distinguishes this location from any other lake in the area. The lake is situated 13 kilometers distant from the central town of Gulmarg. Locals and tourists flock to this beautiful site, one of the most popular picnic locations in the Gulmarg area when the weather is nice.\n\nThe Alpather Lake, whether frozen or flowing, is surrounded by high mountains that are usually snow-capped, and it makes for an excellent backdrop for tourist groups taking photographs. You could spend the whole day taking pictures and yet not get enough of this place. Imagine a snow-covered field with a few patches of green peeking through here and there; this is the best way to describe the scene here during the winter season. This frozen lake will take their breath away, especially if they have never seen much snow in their lives.
